The Greggs Pledge: doing good and tasting great
It’s pretty obvious that we’re good at baking…
…but we’re also dedicated to baking a difference to our planet and local communities whilst being a better business.
The Greggs Pledge outlines our 10 commitments to helping make the world a better place by 2025, and that means there’s just eight months left to tick them all off.
Here’s some of the tastiest highlights from 2024
We supported our 1,015 Breakfast Clubs in feeding more than 75,000 children every school day.
We opened three new Greggs Outlets, providing affordable food with a share of the profits giving back to the local community.
We made sure that over 30% of our menu is ‘Healthier Choice’ meaning that you get the same great tasting food for fewer than 400 calories.
We covered over two million miles on the road using renewable fuel.
We reached over 700 shops with greener equipment, helping us reduce waste and use less water and energy.
We’ve rehomed 5 million unsold meals via our partnership with Too Good To Go.
98% of items in our own packaging can now be more easily recycled.
We made sure that all of the soy we buy is certified sustainable and we’re using wheat from a regenerative farmed source in our wholemeal bread.
We introduced our new ‘Greggs Broiler Standard’ to make sure that our chicken welfare meets more ambitious standards than current UK or EU legislation requires.
As we keep rolling towards achieving the targets we initially set out, we’re already cooking up even more ambitious goals to make sure we keep making an impact.
