Where food can't be redistributed, we make sure it doesn't go to landfill. Instead, it's sent for anaerobic digestion, where it's transformed into renewable energy and fertiliser.

Returned products are managed in the same responsible way. Because food that's been purchased and returned can't be redistributed for food safety reasons, it will be sent for anaerobic digestion rather than landfill.
